Our association - Doloplus

A TEAM EFFORT

Over the years, we have grown from cottage industry to fully-fledged industrial partner, from solitary trailblazer to team player in a multicentre group, from local awareness-raising to international training and outreach, from sensitive tool to validated tool. Such expansion and growth can only come from teamwork. Having started in 1995, that work continues, with 2 annual meetings bringing together the various working sub-groups.

THE DOLOPLUS ASSOCIATION

Following its formation in 1995, the DOLOPLUS group was supported in project management by the Pierre Clément Lorraine Association, a member of the SFAP (French Palliative Care and Support Association) and the EAPC (European Association for Palliative Care), whose main objectives are introducing the palliative movement to the wider public, supporting research and training in palliative care, and training support volunteers. In 2017, the DOLOPLUS Association was created, and Dr Cyril Guillaumé became its Chairman, with Dr Bernard Wary as General Secretary and Mrs Nathalie Dannenberger as Treasurer.

A BRIEF HISTORY

Following the remarkable work done by Annie Gauvain-Piquard on behavioural assessment of pain in young children with cancer (Gustave Roussy Child Pain or DEGR Scale), and given the complete lack of hetero-assessment tools for non-communicating elderly people, geriatricians decided to take action.
